Instagram favors photos more than videos, the interactions in the first hour are key, an emoji as a comment is spam, you cannot use the 30 hashtags. These are some of the Instagram myths that we are going to deny here.

The algorithm rewards content with many interactions in the first hour. It's a very viral myth lately. Well, it seems that they deny it.

I understand that they mean that beyond the first few minutes, the publication is still alive. It is not a tweet that dies after 15 minutes of life.

It is true that if you have a lot of interactions the first few minutes, the Instagram algorithm understands that you like your publication a lot and teaches it more. But it doesn't just take into account the interactions of the first hour or 30 minutes.

If only the posts that had a lot of interactions were taught the first hour, we would be uploading new content every hour and Instagram does not work like that. Instagram content has a 24/48-hour lifespan.

Instagram sees a comment on a word or emoji as spam
It was said that you have to comment with more than 4 words for Instagram to consider you a quality comment. They deny it.

It was also said that commenting with one or more emoji denoted that you were spam because that is what bots do. Don't worry, you can continue commenting with your new favorite emojis.

Of course, I recommend that your comments have the highest possible quality. That happens to have more than 4 words, hence the myth that has run so much.

Buying followers works great
Authenticity and transparency, they say, are the keys to building substantial Instagram engagement. Therefore, buying followers is out of all this.

While it is true that many influencers have found it useful to buy followers, they are practices that are already hunted very easily, both by Instagram and by users.

Buying followers can give you short-term benefits, but if you want to be successful you need to look long-term. Noted that, you can customize Instagram story highlights or featured stories from your desired photos.

In addition, you run the risk of Instagram noticing and having your account suspended or deleted. Here I explain how to recover the Instagram account if it is suspended.

Using likes exchange groups is a good strategy
I recently received a private message on Instagram proposing to join a group where likes were being exchanged. Laziness just reading it.

Having to like all the new posts from group participants has to be tremendously heavy.

Isn't it better to create a community where you give yourself likes without asking? Create valuable and useful content for your community and the likes will come one after another.

Also, since Instagram has their machine learning constantly working, it is easy for them to discover these actions and punish you with invisibility.

A new algorithm has come out

Now is when I have to go to my article on the new Instagram algorithm and change the title.

Instagram confirms that the algorithm is constantly learning but a new algorithm is not suddenly launched, it is continuous.

The content you see is personalized based on your previous interactions. This is how the algorithm learns from what you like the most and teaches you the most.

There is no new algorithm, maybe it is you who have changed your Instagram consumption habits.

 Photos are wider than videos

They deny that photographs are more likely to appear on the timeline than videos.

Since the feed you see is personalized to you, you'll see the type of content you've interacted with the most in the past. If you watch a lot more videos, you will see more moving images than photographs, and vice versa. You can upload videos on Instagram from your PC.

A personal account has more scope than a company account
Sometimes we think that Instagram disfavors company accounts because they want them to pay advertising to have more reach, as it already happens on Facebook pages. They deny it.

Instagram does not favor, they say, one type of account over another. You see more the type of accounts with which you interact more. You decide, without knowing it, the content you see.
